Forex Trading in Colombia
Colombia licenses no forex or CFD broker. The Superintendencia Financiera de Colombia (SFC) says no platform is authorised to operate or promote forex in the country; a foreign firm may promote itself only through an SFC-authorised representation office or a corresponsalía with a local sociedad comisionista de bolsa. Three of the 20 brokers in our broker comparison hold such an office, for promotion only: AvaTrade (2024), Plus500 (2025) and Pepperstone (2026).
This page ranks the 15 brokers confirmed to accept Colombian residents, KCM Trade first as Editor's choice. XTB and FOREX.com do not accept Colombians; CMC Markets, Saxo and Swissquote could not be confirmed.
Is Forex Trading Legal in Colombia?
Trading is not prohibited, but no broker is licensed. Banco de la República (concept JDS-24311) treats retail forex through a foreign platform as a financial investment abroad. The SFC says no platform is authorised to operate or promote forex in Colombia except through a representation office or a corresponsalía, that whoever invests on an unsupervised platform on their own initiative assumes the risk, and that it cannot help them recover money, as the platform is outside its inspection, vigilance and control.
- SFC-authorised representation offices: Ava Trade Markets Ltd (Resolución 0261, 9 February 2024), Plus500BHS Ltd (Resolución 1453, 25 July 2025) and Pepperstone Markets Ltd (Resolución 1128, 28 July 2026). The authorisation covers promotion and advertising only; the client contract is with the offshore entity.
- No SFC authorisation: the other 12 ranked brokers, including KCM Trade.
- SFC unauthorised-firms list: on 20 May 2021 the SFC ordered a local promoter to stop advertising five foreign brokers, naming AvaTrade and IC Markets Global; no other ranked broker appears on the lists we could check.

Deposits and Withdrawals in Colombia
Most accounts are in US dollars, and no broker's own page naming PSE, Nequi or Daviplata for Colombia could be read, so the claims below rest on secondary sources.
- Exness is reported to support PSE, local bank transfer, Nequi, Daviplata and cards from US$10.
- AvaTrade is reported to support PSE, Nequi, Daviplata and local bank transfer from US$100, plus COP accounts.
- XM is reported to support PSE and cards from US$5.
- Admirals is reported to support SafetyPay, which integrates PSE in pesos.
- Pepperstone is reported to take USD cards and international transfer only; OANDA's own page offers online bank transfer for Latin America without naming Colombia; eToro's own FAQ rules out PayPal and Skrill for Colombia. No local method was found at the other ranked brokers.
Bank withdrawals attract the 4x1000 (GMF) tax, per ForexBrokers.com. Under Banco de la República's régimen cambiario the account is an investment abroad, registered on Formulario 11 once the accumulated year-end balance reaches US$500,000. The currency converter shows the market rate.
How to Choose a Forex Broker in Colombia
After KCM Trade, the three brokers with an SFC representation office come first, ordered by the tier-1 licences their groups hold, then the rest by that count, reported local funding, Spanish-language service and entry cost; see our guide on how to choose a forex broker.
- Regulation elsewhere. Counting FCA, ASIC, CySEC, MAS, CFTC/NFA, FINMA and BaFin licences: IG five; Pepperstone, Plus500, OANDA, Interactive Brokers and eToro four; AvaTrade, IC Markets, FP Markets, Admirals, Tickmill and FxPro two; XM one; Exness none for retail clients.
- Cost and leverage. Minimum deposits run from $0 to $1,000 and raw accounts quote EUR/USD from 0.0 pips plus commission; the spread cost calculator compares them. Leverage runs from 1:50 to 1:5000; see leverage and margin.
How We Rank Brokers for Colombia
After KCM Trade, our Editor's choice, brokers are placed by the same checks, in this order: a licence from the local regulator where Colombia issues one and the licensed entity is the one that serves local clients, depth of regulation (tier-1 and offshore licences both count), funding methods that work from Colombia, a local-language site or support desk, the cost of getting started (minimum deposit and typical spread), and swap-free accounts where traders commonly ask for them. The order is an editorial judgement, not a computed score.
An (i) after a broker's description means it is named on the SFC list of unauthorised firms (Lista de firmas no autorizadas) (source). The note records what the local regulator has published; it is not a finding of fraud, and it is removed when the entry is. Weigh it alongside the licences the broker holds.
A broker is ranked among the verified brokers only when we could confirm, from its own website or the local regulator's register, that it opens accounts for residents of Colombia. KCM Trade is our Editor's choice and is placed first on editorial grounds; its availability in Colombia was checked against that same standard. The 3 brokers marked Not verified follow them: we could not confirm from their own websites that they accept residents of Colombia, most come from our wider broker directory, and their figures are indicative until we check them. Spreads, deposits and leverage are the same figures shown on our full broker comparison; leverage and protections depend on which of the broker's entities holds your account. Brokers We Did Not Rank for Colombia
- FOREX.comA secondary source (TradersUnion) states FOREX.com does not provide services in Colombia and ForexBrokers.com's Colombia guide omits it; FOREX.com's own pages publish no country list and could not be read.
- XTBXTB's help centre (updated March 2026) says that from March 2026 only residents of 16 named countries can open an account with XTB International Limited, and Colombia is not among them.
Data last reviewed: October 2026. Availability, funding methods and rules change; confirm them on the broker's own website and with SFC before you open an account.
