One third of the trade closes at each target, and the stop moves to the entry after target 1.
This is a mechanical rule-based buy on USD/JPY at 158.124. The trade triggers because the 1-hour Supertrend (10, 3) indicator has flipped upward. Although the strategy's backtested record is slightly negative overall, USD/JPY has been its best-performing pair, averaging +0.08R per year. The current 4-hour trend is up, with price sitting between the daily pivot at 157.878 and R1 resistance at 158.239. The trade targets a 1R gain at 159.035, requiring a push through the 20-day high. The setup is invalidated if the price drops below the Supertrend line at 157.213, which rests safely beneath the S1 support level.

Supertrend is one of the most used trend indicators (75 strategies, 2,162 stars in our Pine library; for example Supertrend + EMA rebound). On 1-hour bars, buy at market when Supertrend (10, 3) flips up and sell when it flips down. The stop is the Supertrend line (at least half an ATR away), targets 1R, 2R and 3R; the rest closes when it flips back.
