EUR/CAD sets the euro against the Canadian dollar, a currency that follows crude-oil prices and Bank of Canada policy. The pair therefore blends two stories: European inflation and ECB guidance on one side, oil, Canadian jobs and CPI and the BoC on the other. Because Canada's economy is tied to the United States, US data and Federal Reserve decisions spill into the CAD leg as well. Liquidity is best during the London and New York sessions, and the sharpest moves cluster around 8:30 New York time, when Canadian and US releases often land together. On ForexR you can watch the live EUR/CAD rate, read daily pivot points, gauge expected range with ATR and confirm bias on the multi-timeframe chart. ECB and Bank of Canada policy, oil prices, Canadian employment and inflation data, and US releases that move the Canadian dollar through its trade links with the United States.
The London-New York overlap, roughly 12:00-16:00 UTC. Canadian data is released at 8:30 New York time (12:30 UTC in summer, 13:30 in winter), often alongside US figures, which is when volatility peaks.
Canada is a major crude exporter, so rising oil tends to strengthen the Canadian dollar and push EUR/CAD lower, while falling oil usually lifts the pair.
