One third of the trade closes at each target, and the stop moves to the entry after target 1.
Sell XAUUSD at market, currently around 4064.54. This is a mechanical signal from the EMA 9/21 scalper strategy, triggering because the 5-minute 9 EMA crossed below the 21 EMA while price remained below the 200 EMA. Gold is trading ahead of the New York open, moving between the daily pivot and S1. The first target at 4059.37 sits just ahead of the previous day's low at 4057.74, which may act as near-term support. Note that this specific rule has shown a slightly negative tested record on Gold over the past year. The trade is invalidated if price rebounds to the volatility-based stop at 4069.65.
ChartPrice structure on the chart: trend, levels, volatility.
The most common scalping setup: on 5-minute bars, buy at market when the 9 EMA crosses above the 21 EMA while price is above the 200 EMA, and sell on the mirror image. London and New York hours only (07:00 to 20:00 UTC, weekdays), at most six a day per instrument. Stop 1.5 ATR (5-minute), targets 1R, 2R and 3R; the rest closes when the EMAs cross back, or after two hours.
Caveat: One year only (the price feed keeps a year of 5-minute bars): -0.03R per trade over 1,814 trades, gold -0.02R, Nasdaq 100 -0.04R. On EUR/USD, GBP/USD, USD/JPY and Bitcoin the same rule lost 0.17 to 0.20R a trade, because a 5-minute stop is only a few spreads wide, so it is not run there; that choice was made on the same data.

The sell expected the 5-minute 9/21 EMA cross below the 200 EMA to take XAUUSD down toward 4059.37 and the lower targets. Price instead reached 4059.49, about 0.944R in favour, then reversed and closed at the 4069.65 stop for -0.965R.

The sell filled at 4064.69 at 11:56 UTC. The 12:00 bar made the best low at 4059.49, 0.12 short of the first target at 4059.37, and closed back at 4063.82. The 12:05 bar rallied to 4067.98. After a dip to 4061.56 on the 12:10 bar, the 12:15 bar reached 4068.82, and the 12:20 bar traded through the stop with a high of 4069.83. The position closed at 4069.65. No target was hit.
The 11:55 bar did show the 9 EMA just below the 21 EMA with price below the 200 EMA, and at the stop price was still between the daily pivot and S1 and under the signal-bar 200 EMA near 4073.40. The reason's own invalidation was met: price rebounded to 4069.65, back above the signal-bar 9 and 21 EMAs near 4068.3. Later EMA values are not given, so a cross back is not shown.
Lesson: On this Gold scalp, a sell that stalls a few cents short of 1R and above the prior day's low at 4057.74 has not cleared the support named at entry, and the 1.5 ATR stop is then the remaining exit.

Its rule was not profitable after costs in every period we tested.
Scalping trade: moves are quick, and the spread takes a bigger share of a small stop.
A high-impact release is due while the order waits or early in the trade: Nonfarm Payrolls, Average Hourly Earnings (MoM), Average Hourly Earnings (YoY) on 6 Nov at 13:30 UTC.
The spread is a small share of the stop distance (under 10%).
High Risk means at least one check flagged this trade. Size it smaller, or skip it if you only follow Cautious signals. The tag was set when the signal was published and is part of its signed record.
The underlying mechanical strategy has a slight negative edge historically, and upcoming support near the previous day's low could stall the move.
