// ALTERNATIVE 23: Keltner Channel Breakout
// THEORY: Keltner Channels (EMA ± ATR) create dynamic breakout levels that adapt to volatility.
// Unlike fixed Donchian bands based on historical highs/lows, Keltner adapts to current
// market conditions. Enter when price breaks above/below the channel.
// INSIGHT FROM BACKTESTS: Alt 3 (ATR channel) was unprofitable, but that used ATR for both
// entry AND exit. This uses Keltner for entry only, with profit targets from Alt 10.
// Trade-off: More adaptive to volatility, but may generate more signals in choppy markets.

Overview

Seykota Alt 23: Keltner Channel sizes each unit from a fixed equity risk percentage and an ATR stop, then can add units as price moves in the trade direction up to a set maximum. An initial ATR stop and a chandelier trail manage risk, while optional profit targets close one unit at three successive ATR distances. An optional higher-timeframe moving-average regime filter and a volume floor can block trades. It draws the channel, signals, and stops on the price chart.
